7 Ways to Become a Productivity Ninja in 2019

Looking to start your 2019 business year right and increase your productivity levels? Then you’ve come to the right place. Being efficient in your work is one of the best ways to scale up, both in your personal and business life. In other words, if you truly want to get better at a subject or improve your business – you should be focusing on the quality of your work, and not the quantity. There are many different productivity techniques and ways to increase your efficiency, but at the end of the day, it’s all about your singular focus. Being able to channel your laser focus into one task at a time is one of the best ways to get more things done. And if you want to learn other ways to increase your efficiency in 2019 – be sure to read on.

1. Define your approach

If you want to increase your productivity, you need to be able to think in clear terms and plan ahead. Knowing how you’ll tackle a certain task in advance is a great way to save time and money. So, before actually starting your work, do your research first. Plan ahead, define your roles, tasks, and goals within each project, and you’ll get further this way. Once you know what you’re getting into, you won’t get confused halfway through a task and you’ll be ready for any setbacks.

2. Know the right tools

As an entrepreneur, the internet is full of free resources and tools. In other words, the world is your oyster and there are countless ways to get a task done. Be sure to utilize specific tools for a specific task if you want to save time. Of course, a lot depends on the tool and what you hope to gain out of a task. But for the most part, you should know that there are free resources that can help you make the most out of a project. These tools can increase your efficiency and can automate things that otherwise would have required manual work.

3. Outsource small tasks

On the other hand, if you feel that your schedule is getting just too heavy to manage, consider outsourcing some of your responsibilities to a virtual assistant. This is a great way to ease your schedule and allows you to focus on other things (whether it be work or family). If you can afford it, outsourcing small tasks within your business leaves you open to handle other more important tasks yourself. Doing everything at once can lead to failure and stress. So, why risk multi-tasking everything when you can save time and money in the long run?

4. Plan your day carefully

A productive day starts early. Before you can do anything else, the first and most important thing you can do is get a good night’s sleep. This is vital to being productive during the day. If you’re a morning person and can get up earlier – even better. Some entrepreneurs get up as early as 5 am. Now, depending on your schedule and workload, you can get up earlier or later than that. But if you feel that you’re not getting enough done during your day, consider changing up your work and sleep schedule.

5. Take frequent breaks

Taking more breaks might seem counter-intuitive, but it’s been proven that frequent and shorter breaks can help you get more work done. How does this work? Because when we get bored at work, we tend to procrastinate and either scroll through social media or just doze off. But turns out, these seemingly few moments of boredom seriously harm our ability to focus. Instead, it’s better to take a few 5-10 minute breaks here and there, only to come back feeling replenished and be more productive than before. These smaller but more frequent breaks allow us to shift our focus to something else briefly, and then come back with a clear mind.

6. Get the blood pumping

Similarly, consistent exercise has been proven to make us more productive in the long run. Exercise is something everyone claims they have no time for in their schedule, but setting aside as little as 20-30 minutes can already increase your daily productivity at work. It can help you release stress, take your mind off things, and more. You can then come back with a clear mind, to stay focused and get the most done from your day. A cluttered mind can make it hard to focus on your daily responsibilities. So, the next time you feel in you’re in a rut, take a break and exercise. Even just going for a walk can help refresh your mind.

7. Automate some of your tasks

Finally, if you want to definitely make sure your productivity increases and you gain more time for other tasks – consider automating some tasks of your business. Business automation sounds expensive, but you can start small with bills, login information, and slowly build up to email marketing and social media. The main idea here is to work smart, not hard. Investing in some automation tools allows you to think long-term and it might take some time for you to see the returns. But if done well, the automated tasks can turn into a passive income stream and give you more time for you to focus on other tasks. Your mileage might vary depending on your niche and business, but it’s worth considering your options.

Summing up

All in all, if you’re thinking of having a better 2019, consider your approach to work. Many entrepreneurs and business owners put in hard work and long hours – only to burn out eventually. But as long as you’re working smart and not hard, you’re bound to increase your efficiency eventually. So, the next time you’re taking up a new work project or you’re thinking of changing something in your personal life – take a step back and consider your options. At the end of the day, through proper research, planning, and tools, you can hack your productivity levels to skyrocket!
